God's blessings to you, my friends and family. I have stayed away from "Big Marv's" blog for a while, and want to take the month of March as a time to write, to share with my new friends, and to challenge you to grow with me in the discipline of daily writing, of praying, and of reading. For the rest of the month, i will add my thoughts and the thoughts of a few new friends who have been blessings for me during the months since my last post. I was allowed the privilege of coming to Monroe, Michigan to work with a new set of friends, in a very different place than either central Illinois or South Dakota. One thing i have found is that people are still people, and GOD is STILL GOD! He hasn't changed or moved or lessened HIS hold on my heart.
If you read my last blog entry, you will find that it ended with this hopeful, yet honest prayer:
" When the door closed here in Rapid City, we dared to ask GOD, "Will you put us in a place where we can have an 'Adventure' for you, with kind people, and with good people and with people who want to grow?" As I post this on my blog, i am asking, "LORD, let me know, and give me your blessing of wisdom, of grace, and of protection as we seek YOUR will!" "
GOD is STILL GOD! He still works on and in gentle and humble and open-hearted people like you and me. I am writing this on the first Sunday night of March. I am waiting for a History Channel special on the Bible so I can see how it can become a tool for GOD to use to prepare HIS people for greater growth and service. I bet my blog tomorrow will have some thoughts, some supportive and some critical. If you know me, you know that i will be honest!
I post this blog with a prayer. "Lord, bless me tonight with peace and joy and gladness, as i know that real joy can only come from you. I pray for each person who watches the special to be open, to be willing to think and to seek YOUR face! LORD, move in the hearts and lives of your TRUE Saints!" I pray this in the NAME of my LORD, Jesus! marvino
