Sunday Night Blog March 24, 2013

I re-started this Blog earlier in March because of the History channel's choice of a topic near and dear to my heart! I mean the Bible. I love the Bible and have enjoyed sharing observations about the ten hour mini-series. Today's viewing includes the resuscitation of Lazarus. It also includes the growing tension between Jesus's TRUE BLUE DISCIPLES, and the Pharisees. Jesus gives us a definition for T.B.D.'s (TRUE BLUE DISCIPLES) In John 8:31-32!

How will I know for sure that Jesus is MY LORD, and that I am a T.B.D.? Here is what Jesus says about being a T.B.D. "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Remember, HE was talking to a group of disciples, including some pharisees. HE says that HE existed before Abraham! They wanted to stone HIM!

With John 8:31 and 32 as a starting point, I want to give you a 7 question test, from the New Testament, that will help you to evaluate a few areas of need so WE together can be come "G.T.B.D's" (GROWING True Blue Disciples!)
  1. T.B.D. Question # 1 "Do I continue to hold on to His teaching? Has HIS truth set me free?" This question comes from John 8:31-32
  2. T.B.D. Questions # 2 "Am I ashamed of being identified with Jesus and his T.B.D.'s?" This question comes from Mark 8:38
  3. T.B.D. Question # 3 "Do I bear fruit for Jesus?" This question comes from John 15:8
  4. T.B.D. Question # 4 "Do I really believe that all I have is HIS, and have committed my self to being a manager or a steward of HIS resources? Do I still think that I am still the owner?" This question comes from Luke 14:33
  5. T.B.D. Question # 5 "Do I Love Jesus above all?" This question comes from Matthew 10:37-42
  6. T.B.D. Question # 6 "Do I love other people?" This question comes from John 13:35
  7. T.B.D. Question # 7 "Have I taken my cross and followed JESUS, DAILY?" This final question comes from Luke 9:23
Please, remember this: T.B.D.'s are people I love! These three letters stand for True Blue Disciples. I not only love T.B.D.'s but I want to spend the rest of my life finding others who want to be T.B.D.'s! My prayer tonight, and my last thought for this Blog, is for the True Church of Jesus Christ to walk together, in unity and in growth, until we all attain to the FULL Measure of the stature of Jesus Christ. How are you doing?
