Last Sunday Night, the first part of the series on the History Channel was to air, as i sat waiting to see it, I was hopeful that it would be biblical, and historical, and informative. It was. Tonight i am getting ready for bed, and want our Sunday morning to be the same. Biblical, historical, informative? Yes, possible and necessary if we are to honor Christ! I am thankful for the chance to write, to send this blog out with a prayer and a praise to OUR heavenly Father. I also am thankful that tomorrow I get to preach at MCC, to teach at MCC, to know that those who attend are there with love and grace and because they, TOO, love YOU LORD.
Tomorrow we will study the second part of our series of Sermons about the "Reality of the Christian life." Tomorrow, we will learn about a little known lady in Acts, with the unfortunate name of Dorcas, which means "Gazelle". She died, and her friends were sad. They didn't know for sure if he would help, but they sent for Peter to see if he could do the impossible! HE COULD. We will also learn about another believer, named Thomas, nicknamed Doubting Thomas. HE COULDN'T.
The song we will be sharing is called "that is what faith must be" by Michael Card. Here are a few of the lyrics in the song so you can see why i am sharing it:
"When the moment was right He sent His own Son
And He opened the way so that everyone
Could have hope and believe that when time was done
He'd be able to make us one
Now I understand that there is a key
It's Jesus in me, a reality
That God is in Christ and that Christ's in me
That with faith I see what is unseen…"
As you go to sleep tonight, and as you wake up, having lost one hour of sleep by the clock, I want to ask you to make your faith real, to learn the lesson of Peter, who failed, but hoped! I will NOT be a doubting Thomas anymore. What was his fault? Thomas failed by demanding to see before he would believe. We believe in the unseen, and that is why we believe. See you tomorrow. GOD LOVES YOU

I believe because I have seen...God has revealed himself to me in many profound ways this last two years, more so then ever before. Perhaps and most likely because go previous years of training in his care. The more we glean from the rumble of life and learn the lessons said trials bring we get a much clearer picture of Gods direction for us and the crooked path is made straight. so we hold up that mustard seed of faith and press on toward the goal with our faith bold and daring. our faith should never depend on our circumstances. We should let our circumstances point us to God and his leading. It is ok to wonder and ponder but not doubt.
